The mission of the department is to develop human resources in education settings such as primary and high schools, to research and teach in psychological fields and to use the latest scientific findings and applied concepts by achieving the following general objectives:

- Increase teaching collaborations within the departments.
- Enrich the departmental teaching resources, especially in Kurdish language.
- Educate students to improve teaching in education settings.
- Improve psychological awareness among people in Kurdistan Region, Iraq.
- Discovery and dissemination of knowledge about teaching and learning.
